Hiking Club – Flume Canyon/Inner Flume Canyon

Now that fall has arrived with cooler temperatures, it’s time to kick off our hiking club again! The first hike for the 2021/2022 MVMCS Hiking Club will be at the Flume Canyon and Inner Flume Canyon trails. These trails begin at the Pollock Bench Trailhead in Fruita. We will meet in the parking lot at 9 am on Saturday, October 9, 2021:

The planned route is about 2.5 miles round trip. If there is rain in the forecast, an alternate route may be selected due to the potential for flash flooding in Inner Flume Canyon. There is a pit toilet in the parking lot, so please make sure to stop before the hike begins! (It’s recommended to have your own sanitizer on hand.)
Please bring a backpack with water, plenty of snacks, and a first aid kit, and dress appropriately for the weather.
Please note: This is a family event. Parents are expected to accompany their children. Leashed dogs are welcome to hike with us. We will wait about 15 minutes for the group to gather before we begin hiking.
